In 2005, the AFC purchased an office building in downtown Tallahassee, one block from the Capitol. The building houses the AFC, the Florida College System Activties Association and numerous attorneys and lobbying firms.  The building also provides a suite of office spaces for colleges to utilize when their president or governmental relations staff are in Tallahassee conducting business. The "Burst the Balloon" Campaign was extablished in 2011 as a means of targeted giving to help raise funds to apply to reducing the mortgage on the AFC Building.
