2/18/19 Update!

Hello Everyone: There are some exciting updates to announce regarding this year’s Professor of the Year competition.

First, the format for the competition has been changed to allow for the competition to be completed entirely at the AFC Conference on Teaching and Learning in St. Petersburg April 3 - 5 (click HERE for more conference info). The initial round of presentations will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday 4/3, and the final round with the three finalists will be held on Friday morning, 4/5. Winners will be announced at the Awards Luncheon on Friday.

We are also pleased to announce that there will again be cash awards associated with the competition for the winner and runner up finalists. The amounts will be announced soon.

Please remember that the deadline for submitting nominations is Friday, March 1st. I am attaching the revised nomination form here that includes the updated information (highlighted in blue). Please use this revised form for submission because the nominator’s signature line was omitted on the previous form.

We look forward to receiving your nominations and seeing you at the conference!

1/21/19 POY Announcement

This year the first round of presentations for the competition will be presented at the AFC Conference on College Teaching and Learning on April 3-5 in St. Petersburg. This is an outstanding opportunity to allow for even greater attendance and participation for the Professor of the Year presentations. We hope to have submissions from all five regions. If you know an outstanding professor at your institution or in your region help make sure he or she is recognized.

Region representatives, as well as nominees, need to be sure to register and secure travel funding for this event as soon as possible. Conference information including registration, hotel and other details are available HERE. If you need help with funding, you may want to talk with your AFC chapter president and/or academic dean and department chair.
