WHAT IS THE FCPC PROGRAM?

The program provides participants exposure to content and information they may not be able to obtain elsewhere. The FCPC enhances the resume and professional portfolio of a professional employee in the Florida College System.  The program consists of four online CORE Courses: Leadership, Legislative Process and Advocacy, the Florida College System, and Building Community and Customer Service. The FCPC is the foundational certificate in the CCP Program.

WHAT SHOULD I KNOW IF I AM CONSIDERING EARNING THE FLORIDA COLLEGE PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATE?

If you are considering earning the Florida College Professional Certificate, please keep in mind the following criteria that you must meet before applying:

  • You are employed full-time, part-time, or as an adjunct faculty employee by an institution within the Florida College System or related organization for at least one year.
  • If you are a member of the AFC, you must be a member in good standing.
  • You are committed to upholding the AFC Certified College Professional "Standards of Conduct".
  • Your college president will support your effort to earn the FCPC if your tuition payment will be paid by your institution.

Regardless of your academic background and professional experience, the FCPC certificate can set you apart from the rest of your colleagues and go a long way to advancing your career in the Florida College System. If the above criteria apply to you, then earning the FCPC certificate may be a good decision.

THE CERTIFIED COLLEGE PROFESSIONAL PROGRAM PRINCIPLES

  1. The FCPC is a designation recognized by the institutions within the Florida College System.
  2. The FCPC promotes individual professional skills, as well as knowledge of the Florida College System.
  3. The FCPC enhances an individual’s resume which may lead to opportunities for advancement.
  4. The FCPC provides opportunities for candidates to learn aspects of the Florida College System they may not be exposed to in their day-to-day work environment.
  5. The FCPC provides an option through which colleges motivate and reward employees.
  6. The FCPC enhances the AFC’s role in the professional development of its members.

COST AND HOW DO I APPLY?

The application fee to apply to the CCP Program to earn your Florida College Professional Certificate (FCPC) is $200.00 for AFC members and $425.00 for non-members and may be paid online via check or credit card. Participants may also mail in a check for payment.

When you apply, you will be asked to verify that you meet the program criteria (see above) and you will be asked to upload your resume or curriculum vitae. If your college is paying your application fee, you will be required to upload a letter of support from your college president at the time of application.

Your CCP application will be considered complete once all required documents have been provided and your payment is received. Payment may be made by credit card or by check. Check payments must be submitted within 30 days of application.

Complete applications will be reviewed and, upon verification that you meet the program requirements, your official CCP Welcome Letter will be sent to you. This letter signifies your acceptance into the program, effective on the date of the letter. The letter will provide instructions and information on how to create your CCP account so you can start taking your CORE Courses online and documenting other credits earned from your acceptance date forward.
