LUCAS DANIEL BOYCE

Lucas Boyce is a published author and professional speaker. Among some of the clients he has provided services for include Think Tanks, political and policy organizations, communications, faith-based, education, foster care and adoption. Lucas was appointed to a number of different roles with the Orlando Magic over the course of eight years from 2008-2016. He served as Director of business development, community relations, multicultural insights, cause marketing, and government affairs.

Prior to the Magic, Boyce served at the White House in the Office of Political Affairs. Boyce also spearheaded proactive communication, public relations and education outreach among diverse communities, constituencies and issues on behalf of the President.

During his tenure at the White House, Boyce also served in the Office of Public Liaison. In this role, he served as the President’s principal liaison to the African American community in addition to leading outreach to the professional sports industry and collegiate sports. His work also provided an opportunity to work in the fields of healthcare and economic policy. Prior to this, Boyce worked for Direct Impact, a public affairs firm in Alexandria, Virginia.

Lucas is the author of Living Proof: From Foster Care to the White House and the NBA, published in January 2011. With over twenty years of professional speaking experience he travels across the country giving speeches focused on leadership, team work, overcoming obstacles, and making a positive impact on the lives of others.

Lucas has served on a number of non-profit boards at the national, state and local level. He currently serves on the advisory board of the National Coalition on Adoption Institute (CCAI). Lucas was honored by the University of Central Missouri Alumni Association with their 2012 Outstanding Recent Alumnus award. In 2011, the Orlando Business Journal recognized Lucas as the 40 Under 40 Man of the Year. Boyce received his bachelor’s degree in political science and speech communication from the University of Central Missouri and graduated with his Executive MBA from Rollins College in May 2013.

Lucas will be joining us at the AFC's 69th Annual Meeting and Conference as the keynote speaker for the Opening Plenary Session on Thursday, November 8th.
